Teaching is an act of relationship and responsibility.
Dr. Young strives to create learning environments that are inclusive,
reflective, and grounded in respect for Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Young's teaching is relational, land-based, and justice-oriented. He draws from Indigenous epistemologies, critical pedagogy, and community-engaged approaches to foster learning that is connected, transformative, and action-oriented. He centers student voice, lived experience, and collective care to cultivate critical consciousness and pathways toward change.
